Eindhoven/Baoding, November 21, 2025
Shortly after announcing its revamped strategic expansion plans for Europe, GWM Europe gives a more concrete preview of its future product portfolio for the region. Targeting mainstream buyers in major volume segments, at least 7 new models and model derivatives will be launched from mid-2026 onwards, offering a significantly broader choice of body types and powertrains than before, and featuring entry-priced ICE, economical HEV, long-range PHEV and BEV technology.
GWM ORA 5 fully embodies the “All scenarios, all powertrains” philosophy in Europe
The first major cornerstone of this new product line-up is called GWM ORA 5. This entirely new family of compact urban passenger cars is the first tangible proof point of GWM’s new product portfolio strategy, marking a truly powerful start for GWM’s acceleration in Europe.
Recently unveiled for the Chinese market and shown to the public for the first time during the 2025 Guangzhou Auto Show, the European version of the GWM ORA 5 family will come to market mid-2026.
Its new technical platform and modular architecture allow to progressively launch various model derivatives. In Europe, at least three different body types will become available, starting with an SUV and a hatchback in mid-2026, and followed by a longer, more spacious wagon in early 2027.

To satisfy demands of a large group of mainstream customers, the new GWM ORA 5 family will be available with three powertrain options. The choice of ICE, HEV or BEV powertrain will ensure that European users will be able to find their ideal match for their individual use case.
With its expressive life stylish design, GWM ORA stays true to itself
With so much news on the body type and powertrain front, it is important to note that GWM ORA stays true to its general philosophy of offering strong levels of individuality and expressive lifestyle to open-minded target audiences. Despite its much wider footprint across segments and use cases, the design of the GWM ORA 5 family represents a soft yet determined evolution. Effectively, with the introduction of a variety of body types and powertrains, GWM ORA keeps on growing up, reaching further than ever before, and without losing its unique appeal as an expressive life companion, fitting perfectly to its users’ modern lifestyle.
New product announcements further continue to fuel investors’ interest in GWM
Supported by the announcement of new products for Europe, GWM continues to enjoy considerable interest from investors such as distribution companies and dealers.
In the past 2 months, more than 150 potential new partners from a total of 12 European markets visited GWM’s headquarters and R&D facilities in Baoding, China for GWM’s Partner Day Program, which provided first-hand information about business opportunities and allowed participants to test drive a wide range of vehicles from GWM’s global product line-up.
GWM continues to count on independent dealers and dealer groups with a high level of local market heritage and expertise to sell its vehicles to customers and provide service. With this “trusted partner” approach, GWM aims to quickly build up reach within each newly developed market and open the door to new customer audiences.
The Countdown continues: More news to come soon
GWM is determined to greatly expand its European business activities from mid-2026. Consequently, major business development steps and conclusions of cooperation agreements with business partners and service providers are in the making. GWM will release further information on this, as well as more details on its new product portfolio in the months to come.
